Planet X: Increased BRIGHTNESS

Between the imaging on Sep 21, 2002 and Oct 4, 2002 Planet X increased
in brightness. Camera FITS files, JPG and GIF files showing locations,
and correspondence related to analysis of the images captured on these
dates are links off the TEAM page.

Below, an analysis done by J. William Dell on the relative brightness of
the inbound brown dwarf object known as Planet X and the surrounding
stars.

................ (Begin Analysis) ......................

I have done a pixel test. Pixel test on Summary Sept 21 & Oct 4

General comments
In trying to do a brightness variance test on these two Summaries,
we need to consider the following things;

  Same Camera
  Same telescope
A number of variables exist that may skew results
  Different Atmospheric conditions
  Time of Shoot
Sept 21 taken at 09:08:23 UT
Oct 4 taken at 07:04:27 UT

Process used for both images

Load images in Cadet Calibration software with 3 - 120 sec darks to
create summaries.
  No enhancement.
  Save as Fits file
Open in Avis Fits file viewer
  Change to negative image
Identify & record pixel strength based on Avis Fit Files Viewer program

When looking at the two Summary images
 Sept 21 Summary image
    Pixel images 3
    1 @ 240
    1 @ 241
    1 @ 229
Surrounding pixels average 199 to 203

 Oct. 4 Summary image
    Pixel images 3
    1 @ 260
    1 @ 174
    1 @ 155
Surrounding pixels average 118 to 121

Pixel strength of object compared to surrounding background.

On Sept 21 image (average surrounding pixel strength assumed at 200)
    1 @ +40
    1 @ +41
    1 @ +29

On Oct 4 image (average surrounding pixel strength assumed at 120)
    1 @ +140
    1 @ +54
    1 @ +34

Conclusions;
 Based on this process,
it does appear that the object has increased in brightness
between Sept 21 and Oct 4

Data is provided that you may draw your own conclusions.

In this regard, on Planet X being rapidly inbound at this time,

    ZETAS RIGHT AGAIN!!!
